Terms and Conditions

The terms "me", "we", "I", "our", "Fur and/& Flock" and "Fur and Flock Animal Care" throughout this document all refer to the business owner: Holly Blake who also goes by the first name Ennis.

Bookings and use of services are subject to these terms and conditions. Information given in the Pet Sitting and Drop-In Visit Agreement will be used for all subsequent bookings unless I am notified, in writing, of any changes.

No employer/employee relationship is implied or established with this agreement.

General

Before any service starts, I will arrange a free meet and greet session where I can get to know you, your animals, their needs/ behaviour, routines, medication and you can meet me and so on.

If applicable, you agree to ensure your dog has not eaten in the hour before a walk to ensure sufficient time to digest food before any exercise or play. Failure to do so may result in the potentially life-threatening condition Bloat (Gastric Torsion). As per the Control of Dogs Order 1992, all dogs must wear a collar and an identity tag. You are responsible for providing collars, leads, and muzzles as needed. I would be grateful if you could provide poo bags and treats for your pet if applicable.

All pets must have up-to-date on appropriate inoculations/vaccines and be parasite free before sitting or drop-in visits. You must inform me of any medical conditions. Please also make me aware of bitches in season so appropriate measures can be taken.

You agree to take any necessary measures to ensure your pet is free of contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases and agree to notify Fur and Flock Animal Care immediately of any infectious and/or contagious disease or conditions your pet has been exposed to or is affected by. Such diseases and conditions include but are not limited to: Distemper, Hepatitis, Kennel Cough (Bordetella), Parvovirus, Feline Calicivirus, Feline Herpesvirus, Chlamydial Conjunctivitis, Coronavirus, Leptospirosis, Lyme Disease, Strangles, Equine Influenza, Aspergillosis, Avian Influenza, Brucellosis, Tuberculosis, Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis, Trichomoniasis, Psittacosis, Mycoplasmosis/Mycobacterium Infections, Inclusion Body Disease, Adenovirus, Fleas, Pregnancy, Infectious Skin Diseases (i.e, Ringworm, Orf/Pox Virus...) and Intestinal Parasites (i.e., worms).

I reserve the right to refuse service for any reason without explanation. Please fully disclose any characteristic problems; including behavioural or health problems, antisocial behaviour; including aggression, incontinence, lack of house training and excessive loud barking or whining. Failure to do so may result in services being altered, refused or cut short with no refunds given.

Photos and Videos

Often Fur and Flock Animal Care will photograph and video your animal(s) during their walk or pet sit; by signing this document you consent to this and the use of any visual media on the business's website, social media, advertisements and similar. All photos and videos remain Fur and Flock Animal Care’s property. If you would like a copy of images and videos, please get in contact. Exceptions can be made i.e., for animal neglect and abuse cases, domestic violence victims, owners occupation etc. so please just let me know.

Emergencies and Vet Care

In the event of an emergency or pet ill health, I will notify you or your emergency contact as soon as possible. If you cannot be reached or I feel vet treatment is required, you authorise me to take any action necessary, including medical or veterinary treatment, to protect myself, your animal(s) and other individuals.

Where possible I will take your pet to the named vet on the Veterinary Release Form – when not possible I reserve the right to seek advice from any local, registered veterinary practice. Any decisions made will always be with your pet’s best interest and welfare in mind.

You accept that whilst all care will be taken sometimes animal(s) can sustain injuries/illness, such as punctures, torn tendons, bites and cuts, pollen/mud allergies, during normal play, paddock/stable time and walks.

Where no negligence has occurred, you agree to reimburse all medical or vet fees whilst your pet(s) are under my care, including any associated fees i.e., call-out costs. This includes treatment for known illnesses/ conditions. This does not prevent an insurance claim.

Liability

I will care for your animal as you would, and whilst I will make every effort to ensure your pet(s) are well looked after in your absence, I cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death of your animal(s) whilst in my care unless proven to be negligent.

I will maintain liability insurance. Proof of such insurance is available for you to inspect at all times, simply contact me for a copy. Fur and Flock Animal Care is currently covered by Public and Product Liability, including Loss of Keys and Care, Custody, and Control, provided by Cliverton.

Unless negligence can be proven, you agree you are fully liable for any damages, loss, or injury caused by your pet(s) whilst in my care. You agree to not hold me responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged leads, collars, tags, clothing, rugs, headcollars or any other item left with your pet(s).

You accept that for any injuries that result from your dog attacking another person, animal, or property, you, the owner, could be responsible for any losses incurred whether or not there was negligence on my part.

I will not walk unruly or untrained dogs or dogs that excessively choke themselves on their lead. All dogs will be walked on a lead unless the Dog Walking Off Lead Disclaimer is signed. Off-lead walking will remain at the discretion of Fur and Flock Animal Care.

Fur and Flock Animal Care cannot be held liable for any loss of pets that have access to an unlocked “cat flap” or other form of exit/entry at the time of a visit. In the event of a pet going missing, I will take all reasonable steps to locate them. I can continue to visit your home as normal and send feedback. If I have any cause for concern, I will always try to contact you first, after which I will notify the listed emergency contact, vet and any relevant authorities regarding a potentially missing pet.

You agree, that you will not hold Fur and Flock Animal Care liable for theft of your pet(s) unless negligence is proven. Similarly, you will not hold me liable for any theft or damage to your property unless through negligence.

Job sharing is not covered under my insurance, thus I cannot be responsible for your pet(s) or home if another service provider (i.e., painters, cleaners, builders, neighbours, friends, family) enters your property while I am there. I request that no visitors be present whilst I am pet sitting unless otherwise agreed/ notified.

Dog Walking Cancellation/ Refund Policy

If you do not require the service for 1-2 weeks but wish to reserve your spot/day/time for the following weeks you may be required to pay a holding fee of 50% of the service price, especially during busy times.

A full refund is available if a pet owner cancels 7 days before the booking begins – baring this holding fee if applicable. No refund is available if cancelled within 48 hours of the booking.

Pet Sit Cancellation/ Refund Policy

A full refund is available if a pet owner cancels 7 days before the booking begins unless a pet sit is 5 days or more when a 14-day cancellation notice is required for a full refund. Pet sits of 5 days or longer cancelled with less than 14 days' notice will receive a 50% refund up to 72 hours before the booking. For all other pet sits cancelled between 6 and 4 days before the booking begins you will receive a 50% refund. No refund is available if cancelled within 72 hours of the booking.

If a service is cancelled before the fee has been paid, but dates have been saved/reserved (through written communication and/or deposit) an invoice may be issued to recover any lost earnings, in accordance with the refund policy outlined above.

I ask that notice of cancellation be given as soon as reasonably possible. I reserve the right to charge cancellation fees. Exception to these cancellation policies is at our discretion and usually only possible for lost, suddenly ill or deceased pets.

As much notice as possible will be given if Fur and Flock Animal Care must cancel an appointment for reasons such as illness, vehicle breakdown, extreme weather conditions, etc. In this event, a full refund will be given for the time missed, any services provided prior to this, or after, still require payment. Times given for arrivals are only approximates – please allow 30 minutes before contacting.

Fur and Flock Animal Care reserves the right to deny service or terminate service because of safety concerns, financial concerns, or inappropriate / uncomfortable situations.

Property Security and Trackers

I recommend you tell your neighbours that we will be pet-sitting/ visiting your animal(s).

Keys

Keys kept by Fur and Flock Animal Care will never be labelled with your address. Keys will only be used to enable the care of your pet(s). Should a key malfunction, you will be contacted. You are responsible for all charges if a locksmith is required. If a key is not provided during the free meet and greet, then a key pickup fee may be charged.

If I require key(s) to perform this service they will:

  • Keys will only be used to enable the care of your pet(s).
  • Be kept in a safe place
  • Returned to you on demand

Cameras

It is now common for households to have internal/indoor cameras set up. To be compliant with GDPR regulations, The Human Rights Act 1998 and the Data Protection Act 2018, camera locations should be disclosed as soon as possible, i.e., during initial communication or meet-and-greet appointments, as well as their type (i.e., live or recording) and if they have voice activation, please.

They will need to be disabled/turned off during the length of any pet sit carried out by Fur and Flock Animal Care, purely to protect my privacy and comfort. I am more than happy to send regular updates and videos of your pet if you want to check in on them. This is particularly important for any cameras/recording devices in rooms such as bathrooms, ensuites or bedrooms. This does not extend to external CCTV/cameras and ring doorbells. This condition is non-negotiable.

Pet Trackers

Please make Fur and Flock aware if your pet has a tracker, such as PitPat, Tractive, PawFit, or Apple AirTag. There is a possibility that these will need to be removed so that data protection can be considered.

 Visitors

For longer pet-sitting stays, I may occasionally invite my partner or a close friend over to drop off supplies or share a meal. This is purely for practical reasons, such as restocking essentials or having some company during extended stays.

Please rest assured that:

  • They will not be responsible for any animal care.
  • They are covered under my insurance.
  • They will not stay overnight unless permission is given.

This is not a necessity, and your comfort is my priority. If you would prefer that no visitors come during my stay, simply let me know [by answering the check box on the form provided], and I will happily respect your preference.
